Safe drinking water for Latin America

Ultrafiltration plants with our own control systems, 24/7 remote monitoring and artificial intelligence. We design, manufacture, install and operate them for municipalities, water utilities and industry across the region.

About us

Latin American engineering to bring drinking water where it is needed most

GRUPO HOH S.A.S. is a drinking water technology and engineering company, headquartered in Colombia and serving all of Latin America. Since 2009 we have designed, manufactured, installed and operated ultrafiltration water treatment plants, many of them in containers, with control electronics, firmware and telemetry developed in-house. This is how we build smart water supply systems: HOH Brain runs each plant autonomously and OneWater brings its data together, where artificial intelligence helps anticipate maintenance.

Our goal is to bring drinking water to every rural community and organization with shortfalls in water quality, supply or service, through sustainable and efficient solutions.

HOH was founded by Jaime Roldán, a civil engineer from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia with a master's degree from Penn State. Today it brings together a team with more than 50 years of experience in technology development.

People with drinking water in Latin America: our goal for 2030
1 million
  • Latin American engineeringDesigned and manufactured in Colombia, with our own electronics.
  • 24/7 remote monitoringTelemetry for every plant through OneWater.
  • Modular and containerizedTransportable plants that are quick to install and have a small footprint.
  • Water that meets the standardWe design to each country's drinking water standard; in Colombia, we comply with Resolución 2115 of 2007 (drinking water quality).
In Latin America and the Caribbean, 1 in 4 people does not have safely managed drinking water. In rural areas it is almost half (47%), and 17 million people do not have even a basic water service.

How it works

Ultrafiltration: a physical barrier for water

Water passes through membranes with microscopic pores that retain suspended solids, bacteria, viruses and other pathogens. The result is high-purity water that meets the drinking water standard (in Colombia, Resolución 2115 of 2007 on drinking water quality), with minimal use of chemicals.

  • 99.99% removal of viruses and bacteria
  • Minimal use of chemicals
  • High tolerance to changes in the source
  • Membrane service life of 3 to 7 years
  • Modular: grows with demand
  • Transportable in a container
From turbid water to clear water: this is how ultrafiltration works.
  1. Raw water

Water arrives from the source carrying solids, turbidity and microorganisms.

  2. Ultrafiltration membrane

The membranes act as a physical barrier: they retain solids, bacteria, viruses and turbidity.

  3. Drinking water

Clear, safe water comes out, ready to be stored and distributed to the community.

  4. Control and monitoring

HOH Brain, the brain of each plant, runs it autonomously. Data reaches the Unified Monitoring Center via satellite, cellular network or Wi-Fi.
